5.- Constancy and dedication.

 

Our experience has shown us that vocation promotion is a process that involves different stages and activities, which requires perseverance and dedication in order to follow the candidates and maintain contact with them throughout the year. It is essential to keep the flickering light flowing so that it continues to illuminate even it it{s weak.

 

The stages of the process to rediscover the charismatic spirit can be applied to the development of vocational animation:

 

    The first step would be to allow oneself to be provoked by the world. It would be like phase zero, rather passive and contemplative. It is a time to open our eyes and heart to the reality before us that has its challenges, threats, opportunities and strengths. Analyzing it from God gives clarity to glimpse possibilities of action.

    The second is to develop a project with an evangelical flavour. It is the moment of programming, of elaborating the plan of vocational action, articulating all the elements in a clear, synthetic, attractive and meaningful way. It would be like a road map with the key elements that I carry everywhere and, since it is light, I can put it in my pocket.

    The third consists of accepting the phases of a process that explores new forms that give life and form to the discerned response. Here are all the different activities that are developed and incarnate the elaborated plan. This moment is the longest, it requires perseverance and dedication to carry out what has been programmed, for example, following the candidates and maintaining contact with them throughout the year.

    The fourth leads to mature and consolidate everything into a product (new reality). In the case of vocational animation more than a product we should talk about fruits. Instead of the industrial simile it is more appropriate to use the agricultural one. As good farmers we work from sunrise to sunset doing everything by our hands, but at the same time we abandon ourselves confidently to the owner of the harvest so that he be the one who makes that the planting, watering, fertilizing and growing bears fruit at the right time. Fruits that many times, although they are not the expected ones, surprise us in a pleasant way because they are better [1].
